Duties
* You will assess environmental compliance with petroleum oil liquid spill response, hazard waste or materials spill response, and petroleum oily liquid storage procedures.
* You will compose reports, official correspondence, memorandums, or information papers for environmental projects or programs.
* You will develop regional policies, including pollution prevention initiatives or procedures for the sampling, handling, and disposal of toxic and hazardous waste and material.
* You will coordinate an environmental program with others (e.g., outside fed/state/local agencies, management, engineering, Port Operations, Emergency Management, etc.) to determine all possible impacts to the environment.
* You will consult with other media managers to maintain consistency in environmental program implementation.
* You will develop a training program related to the afloat environmental program and environmental response.
* You will be an active member of the Regional Operations Center and expected to be on call for regional emergency response. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Selectee must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
* Incumbent may be required to work overtime.
* Incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercise and real world response action. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Interpreting environmental program principles, concepts, practices, methods, and techniques of one or more specialty areas to apply new developments and theories to environmental restoration;
2) Managing operational facilities, public safety, employee safety, and environmental matters directly or closely related to environmental planning (e.g., air, storage tank, spill, hazardous waste, storm water, drinking water, wastewater natural resource, cultural resource management and/or installation restoration.) to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, state, regional, local environmental and/or organizational laws and regulations;
3) Analyzing service provider costs versus project progress to identify potential problems;
