Overview
The Sheriff’s Office is hiring for Sheriff's Property and Evidence Specialist II
. This position provides an opportunity to apply knowledge in collecting and preserving evidence and to demonstrate attention to detail and leadership abilities.
Sheriff’s Property and Evidence Specialists II are assigned to the Sheriff’s Property and Evidence Unit. This role is responsible for specialized duties related to collection, preservation, secure storage, lawful disposal, and custody chain maintenance of property and physical evidence acquired by the Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.
Experience and/or Education- One (1) year of experience as a Sheriff’s Property and Evidence Specialist I with the County of San Diego
- OR Eighteen (18) months of experience receiving, storing, releasing, and disposing of property and evidence in a law enforcement agency
Note:
A valid California Class C driver’s license, which must be maintained throughout employment in this class, is required at time of appointment, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel. Employees may be required to use their own vehicle.

Evaluation ProcessThe names of qualified applicants will be placed on a five (5) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information provided on the employment applicant and supplemental questionnaire. If you are successful in the initial screening process, your application will be reviewed individually to confirm that the information you provided is accurate and qualifying.
