The opportunityOur Sales and Use Tax Lookback Review COE is a national team which leads large multi‑state, sales and use tax recovery projects for EY’s largest clients. It’s here you’ll find everything you need to continue to develop as a multi‑state, sales and use tax practitioner. It’s all about taking on new skills and responsibilities as they arise and making the most of our dedicated mentors and training programs.
Key Responsibilities- Researching our clients’ business operations and building long-lasting relationships with them
- Identifying applicable sales and use tax exemptions and exclusions
- Identifying potential over payment opportunities or risks and communicating these to our clients
- Monitoring current tax law changes, to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor
- Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches for sales and use tax recoveries
- Preparing and defending sales and use tax refund claims
- Participating on a motivated team of professionals
- Managing a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential
- Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization
- Strong influencing skills, and confidence to question existing processes
- Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment
Required
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
- Professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes, concepts and tools
- Experience managing budgets, people and projects
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context
- The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects
Preferred
- An achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or be a member of a state bar
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,100 to $192,600.
- Hybrid model expectation: work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
- Flexible vacation policy: decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. Granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed.
