Tax Preparer

Description

Our client in the biotech sector is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join their growing finance team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support tax compliance and planning activities in a dynamic, science-driven environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in federal and state regulations, and eager to contribute to organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization in compliance with current laws and regulations

+ Assist in tax planning initiatives to optimize the company's tax position

+ Analyze financial and accounting records to support tax filings and respond to inquiries

+ Research and interpret changes in tax legislation relevant to the biotech industry

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including finance, accounting, and external auditors-on tax-related matters

+ Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure proper recordkeeping for all tax filings and supporting schedules

+ Assist with audits and tax authority correspondence as needed

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; active CPA or EA certification preferred

+ 2+ years of tax preparation experience, ideally supporting corporate clients or within the biotech, life sciences, or related sectors

+ Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax codes and regulations

+ Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
