TheCareer Opportunity
Senior Financial Analyst – The role focuses on supporting the company’s FP&A function, particularly cost management by brand and functional area. Key responsibilities include owning headcount and payroll planning, reconciling and improving headcount forecasts, managing vendor spend, and ensuring accurate budgeting and variance analysis. The position is based in San Diego, CA, with a hybrid schedule (three days in office) and remote consideration for the right candidate.
Areasof Accountability
- HC / Payroll Process Owner: Conduct weekly headcount approvals, monthly reconciliations versus budget, quarterly reforecasts, and serve as the system and process expert for FP&A.
- Vendor Spend Management: Partner with Accounting and business owners to ensure accurate reporting, budget adherence, and proactive variance management.
- Revenue Reporting: Prepare monthly recurring revenue (MRR) reports and analyze flux to identify trends and variances.
- Product Leadership Strategy: Lead monthly financial reviews with general managers and functional leadership to discuss performance and improvement areas.
- Budget & Reforecasting: Manage budgeting and reforecasting processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and delivering timely financial projections.
- Financial Package Preparation: Compile comprehensive financial packages for the Board of Directors and investor team, providing analysis and recommendations.
- 4+ years of finance experience.
- End‑to‑end payroll and HC budgeting for 500+ employees and >$50M.
- Strong communication and independent work style.
- Curiosity and ability to incorporate feedback.
- Desire to build, enhance, and own processes and reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of operational KPIs, budgeting, and report design.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience pulling transactional details from an ERP (SAP, Net Suite, etc.).
- Experience building an annual budget in an FP&A tool (Anaplan, Adaptive, etc.).
- Proactive variance identification and research.
- Embraces change and flexibility.
- Prior SaaS or relevant industry experience is nice but not required.
Practice Tek offers competitive compensation influenced by market factors and the applicant’s experience. For this position, the expected range is $49,450 – $105,000. The decision may vary based on market, experience, and supply/demand dynamics.
