Position: Sales Lead & Client Advisor (Crypto Tax, B2C)

Our Inside Sales role is built for someone who can confidently educate warm, referred prospects on what we do, ask smart questions about their crypto activity, and clearly explain what working with Count On Sheep looks like (We teach all of this). These are not cold calls. Every conversation is booked with people who already want help and are actively looking for a solution.

You’ll be paid like a closer—base salary plus commissions on every deal—supported by a proven process and a 50% close rate because the market demand is real and tax time is unforgiving.

Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the full sales cycle for client opportunities, including:
  • Qualifying inbound client leads
  • Running discovery and consultative sales calls
  • Explaining scope, pricing, timelines, and tax exposure
  • Recommending appropriate service packages based on client needs and risk profile
  • Coordinating with internal tax preparers and reviewers
  • Closing engagements and handing off clients cleanly to the tax team
  • Manage a high-volume pipeline during peak tax season, handling client questions, objections, and urgency with confidence and expertise
  • Conduct client education that translates tax complexity into risk, consequences, and time-sensitive solutions
  • Become a subject matter expert in crypto taxation, including:
  • Capital gains and income classification
  • DeFi, staking, NFTs, airdrops, and forks
  • Prior-year cleanup and amended returns
Skills & Experience

Count on Sheep looks for people who take full ownership of their work, communicate clearly, and understand that trust is earned when selling financial services.

Required

  • 2 to 5 years in client services, tax prep, accounting, or financial advisory
  • Large accounting firm experience, or EA/CPA license or plan on getting one.
  • Strong understanding of individual taxation fundamentals
  • Comfort discussing sensitive topics including money, penalties, deadlines, and compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, seasonal, fast-moving environment

Preferred (Not mandatory)

  • Direct experience with crypto tax software or transaction reconciliation
  • Personal familiarity with crypto trading, wallets, exchanges, or De Fi
  • Background in public accounting, tax prep firms, or wealth services
  • Demonstrated interest in digital assets and regulatory compliance
