Position: STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Compensation Range: $38 - $40 per hour

About the Position

As a staff accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the organization. Your expertise in financial analysis and reporting will allow you to help the team in making important financial decisions. Your work will be essential in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and proper bookkeeping. You will also ensure compliance with accounting principles and support the organization's core values of accountability, communication, family, exceptional service, and profitability.

This position requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to financial accuracy.

Additional responsibilities include:

Accountability
  • Perform month-end closing activities and assist with the review of location financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Perform account analysis and review accrual and ledger balances.
  • Ensure adherence to established financial policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
  • Take responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
Communication
  • Effectively communicate financial information to team members and department heads.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting and decision-making.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide explanations regarding financial matters.
Family
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment that embodies the organization's family-oriented culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and foster a sense of belonging.
Exceptional Service
  • Ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently to support exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in resolving financial issues or discrepancies promptly and professionally.
Profitability
  • Collaborate with the finance team to identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue-enhancing strategies.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide recommendations for improvement.
About You

This role requires tremendous patience and the ability to focus on one task for long periods of time. You’ll be great for this role if you’re a self-starter who is attentive to detail, is confident when talking to internal constituents, and loves numbers.

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
