DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

Enrollment Management (EM) is a multi-unit department within the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs. The department is led by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (AVC EM), who serves as the Chief Enrollment Officer and Chief Outreach Officer of the University. EM comprises multiple high‑profile, core functional units including: the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid & Scholarships Office, Cal‑SOAP, Creative Services, Enrollment Analytics, and the Business Office.

We work to advance the academic and public service missions of UC San Diego by ensuring equitable access to education and empowering students throughout their educational journeys.

The EM Business Office (EMBO) exists to serve as a support to the Associate Vice Chancellor, unit managers, supervisors, and staff of EM on issues related to financial processing and reporting, payroll, timekeeping, safety, facilities management, and human resources. We follow the policies and guidelines established by the Office of the President, UC San Diego, Academic Affairs, and Enrollment Management. The EMBO strives to provide superior business service by offering information, analysis, and guidance on an advisory level.

This position serves as the department's primary fiscal and operations analyst, responsible for managing permanent staffing activity, budget administration, and comprehensive financial oversight across multiple funding sources. Core functions include monthly and annual reporting, reconciliation of salary and non‑salary expenses, position funding management, and preparation of journals, adjustments, and cost transfers.

The incumbent oversees the full lifecycle of resource allocations, monitors fund balances and commitments, and prepares financial documentation for both internal and external stakeholders. They independently develop and enhance reporting tools, validate data across multiple campus systems, and produce detailed analyses to support executive decision‑making.

In addition to fiscal responsibilities, the position supports a wide range of business operations. This includes serving as P‑Card Administrator, Data Security Administrator (DSA), and departmental security officer.
