A VP of Finance and IT (or often VP of Finance & Operations/Administration) is a senior executive overseeing an organization's financial health, strategic planning, IT infrastructure, and operational efficiency, bridging fiscal management with technology to drive growth, compliance, and scalability, requiring deep expertise in finance/accounting, ERP systems, leadership, and strategic vision. This hybrid role ensures financial reporting, budgeting, and risk management align with IT investments and digital strategy, supporting business objectives.
EssentialFunctions Statements
- Provides financial leadership: budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, risk management, audit coordination, treasury, and ensuring compliance.
- IT Strategy:
Overseeing IT infrastructure, systems (like ERPs), security, and aligning technology with business goals. - Operational Efficiency:
Streamlining processes, optimizing systems (finance & IT), and ensuring scalability. - Strategic Planning:
Advising executives, analyzing data, and making strategic decisions for growth and profitability. - Assists in establishing short‑ and long‑range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Serves as primary government liaison relative to financial issues.
- Communicates expectations to direct reports, delegating authority as appropriate; supervises and develops staff.
- Provides leadership to manage complex interdependencies between finance and IT, crucial for organizational growth.
- Collaborates with all departments and leaders of Goodwill Industries of San Diego County to develop, implement, and manage processes and strategies to complete projects and assure best business practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required; CPA or MBA preferred.
Required ExperienceMinimum of 10 years in finance/accounting, with management and leadership experience.
Technical SkillsFamiliarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics 365 Finance, Power BI), advanced Excel, and financial and real estate portfolio modeling.
Certificates & LicensesValid CA Driver's License with record acceptable to Goodwill's Insurance company.
Other RequirementsMust meet the background check requirements of the department.
