YourOpportunity
Stantec is seeking a summer engineering intern to join our multi‑disciplinary team of integrated water professionals, each committed to delivering sound and strategic consulting services to a range of local, regional, state, and federal clients.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Water‑related infrastructure, including water and stormwater conveyance, pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Participate in multi‑disciplinary teams on water projects throughout California and the western U.S.
- Conduct technical evaluations, supporting planning and design of water supply, water treatment, and wastewater projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, project engineers, staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
- Assist technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, performing calculations for design projects, and gaining exposure to CAD, GIS, and design.
- Assist with field work, including water quality sampling.
- Perform project administration including preparation of reports, gathering of information, drafting proposals and correspondence, and completing progress reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in diverse team environments, interacting with staff, clients, and stakeholders
- Willingness to perform field work as needed
- Enter into or be in progress toward earning a Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or Master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, or a related field, within 4 months of applying.
- Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following: CAD, modeling, engineering analyses and design, hydrology, hydraulics, water/wastewater treatment processes, civil, mechanical, or structural engineering design.
$23.47 – $34.50 hourly

Benefits information may differ for union positions under collective bargaining agreements.
