Engineering Technician IV

• Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an
  Engineering Technician lV
  who will be a key support of disassembling and assembling of components of US Navy Gun Weapons Systems (GWS) requiring basic mechanical, electrical, wiring, soldering, or connecting skills. Disassemble and refurbish/overhaul GWS components such as MK 46 Optical Sight Sensor (OSS) and MK 20 Electro-Optical Sensor System(EOSS); MK160 Gun Computer System (GCS);
  Daylight Imaging Sensor (DIS) MK 15, MK19, MK22;
  Thermal Imaging Sensor (TIS) MK16, MK18, MK23;
  Electro-Optical Director (EOD) MK 85 MOD 1, MK 87 MOD 0, MK88 MOD 0;
  Electronic Laser Range Finder (ELRF) MK 79 MOD 0, MK 80 MOD 0;
  Shock Isolation Assembly (SIA).
• This is a Gov’t-Site position in San Diego, CA at the Gun Weapons Systems Replacement Program (GWSRP) shop.

• Perform disassembling and assembling of equipment, components, and rack systems.
• Perform system testing to evaluate performance and functionality.
• Provide and assist in procurement and acquisitions of materials required as part of overhaul and refurbishment of components.
• Coordinate the work of subcontractors and vendors providing preservation/painting services and machining and tool fabrication.
• Use drawings, technical manuals, instructions, standards, and specifications to perform assembling of components.
• Adhere to all safety standards of Federal, State, and Local agencies.

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and appropriate Trade School or related Armed Forces School or at least 7 years of related experience as a technician.
• Must be able to complete work duties with minimal supervision.

• Prefer to have knowledge of the Gun Weapon System (GWS) listed above.
• Prefer the ability to communicate effectively.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards and naval installations.

• Repetitive motion, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Picking, Grasping, Talking, Hearing, and Visual Acuity (depth perception).
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
