Harris in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support the design and manufacturing of Special Test Equipment (STE) for Space Telemetry and RF Products. As a Test Engineering Technician, you will be directly involved in assembly, and integration and test of STE. This includes assembling cables, assembling and/or reworking Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWAs), integrating RF equipment/devices and digital or analog equipment and devices to our automated test racks.

You will be responsible for performing design verification testing and troubleshooting as well as to be a liaison between engineering and production test teams.

Essential Functions:

• Build automated test racks and other special test equipment (STE)
• Independently perform verification testing of circuit cards and higher-level STE assemblies
• Troubleshoot STE hardware and cables to the component level
• Write and modify verification test procedures with minimal engineering assistance
• Build and assemble Cables and PWAs for use on or with Special Test equipment
• Provide STE field support to production teams including configuration of STE hardware and software.
• Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance.

Required Qualifications (one of the following):

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience
• 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred

Additional Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting circuit card assemblies.
• 6+ years of experience using electrical measurement equipment, including digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, and logic analyzers.
• 4+ years of experience using RF measurement equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters.
• Demonstrated familiarity with basic RF parameters (bandwidth, reflection, S-parameters, spurious and harmonic signals, SNR, gain compression) and basic analog, digital, and DC circuit parameters (voltage/current/power, logic levels, timing).
• Experience with military or space qualified hardware designs.
• Experience performing design verification testing.
• Experience Assembling, and reworking cables.
• Experience performing tests using lab equipment.
• Soldering certification or ability to obtain one.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and assembly drawings.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $57k MIN - $106k MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
