Job Overview
The Project Electrician/Process Controls/Instrumentation Technician will work on activities related to the NAVFAC Environmental Services project. Work will primarily support operations at the following facilities and associated sites (including ship piers, pump stations, sumps, and customer facilities):
Bilge Oily Waste Treatment System (BOWTS) -- Building 3588, NBSD
Industrial Waste and Oily Waste (IWOW) Treatment Plant -- Building 788, NBC NI
Bilge Oily Waste Treatment System (BOWTS) -- Building 2004, NBPL
Bilge Oily Waste Treatment System (BOWTS) -- Building 333, NBC NAB
Perform low‑voltage electrical connect/disconnect work
Install and remove electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment
Conduct system testing, measurements, and data collection using standard test equipment
Set up, operate, and document tests, experiments, and inspections
Assist with design modifications by compiling and analyzing field and technical data
Troubleshoot and correct system malfunctions, maintenance issues, and leak detection events
Perform routine and as‑needed maintenance on:
Electrical equipment and pumps
Instrumentation and control systems
SCADA systems and communications
Support DoD‑encrypted RF communications between pump stations and treatment plants
Maintain and annually certify instruments such as:
Level indicators, switches, and transmitters
Leak detection systems
Compile, analyze, and document production, operational, and leak detection data
Coordinate and support leak detection response actions
Document work using prescribed recording methods, software, and hardware
Construct, adapt, and support site‑specific leak detection equipment
Provide miscellaneous field support and technical consulting services as needed
Successful candidates will have working knowledge of:
Flow, temperature, pressure, and level monitoring systems
Process switches, indicators, transmitters, and recorders
Calibration wiring, testing, and system verification
Electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting techniques
Preventive and corrective maintenance best practices

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $51.31 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
