Engineering Technician, Intermediate

Job Description

Work schedule is regular 8-5pm PST, 5 days a week for 40 hours.

General

Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for functions in support of engineering activities. This will include, but not limited to, installation and relocation of equipment, installing cabling (Coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics), supporting engineering lab equipment, and any other support activities required to support engineering.

• Perform daily activities as defined by management to support engineering
• Perform software and hardware upgrades
• Installation of coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics cabling
• Build racks and install equipment following rack elevation and wiring diagrams
• Able to work in priority order as defined by management and project leads
• Assist with lab moves as well as cleaning and organization efforts

• Familiarity with Windows 10 and/or Linux
• Ability to follow instructions and published documentation
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong customer service skills and time management
• Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and be flexible with daily job assignments

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP including DNS and DHCP
• Basic understanding of Windows and/or Linux OS systems
• Formal electronics education via military or trade school

• Must be able to perform repetitive actions such as going up and down a ladder or running cable overhead
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over short distances

• Military communications, radar, electronics schooling
• Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or similar, or equivalent work experience
