Safety Sensitive: Yes
Provides a wide variety of operational and administrative support for company environmental, health and safety programs and policies. Carries out inspections, audits, and tests of safety and workplace hazard monitoring equipment and systems; records and escalates anomalies, hazards, and issues for resolution. Assists in Emergency Response Team (ERT) and employee training; maintains safety records, manuals, and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
Supports ongoing safety surveys and investigations of incidents, accidents, and emergencies. Under limited supervision, responsible for providing support to the chemical storage, equipment wastewater treatment areas and the salvage control. Trains other Technicians and production staff.
- High School Diploma or GED with associate degree in a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 4 or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of environmental/industrial hygiene-related roles; certification preferred
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
- Ability to walk, climb, stand, and work in a variety of environments; may wear PPE for extended periods of time.
- Must pass 24-hour HAZWOPER and forklift driver certifications within 6 months of hire.
