BEPC is actively looking for Environmental Health and Safety Engineer, in San Diego, CA area! W2 Contract – 12 months with possible extensions! Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Pay Rate: $50.88 - $58.88 /hour - Determined based on experience (Paid weekly) Work Model:
Onsite – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; occasional flexibility/weekend needs.

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our client’s site in South San Francisco, CA. This role will support hazardous and biological waste management, chemical management, and chemical waste management activities. The position requires strong knowledge of San Diego County HAZMAT and CERS (online portal for County Hazmat), as well as experience with chemicals chemical and biological waste management.

The role will also support training improvements, compliance, reporting, inspections, and incident response activities.

Summary of

Duties and Responsibilities:

Training:

  • Improve training for existing employees and new employees.
  • Administer in-person training in addition to existing online training.
  • Create more robust training programs.

Compliance / Reporting / Inspections:

  • Manage interactions with regulating agencies, including County HAZMAT, Fire Department, and CAL OSHA.
  • Potential involvement with storm water compliance in the future.
  • Conduct internal inspections to ensure readiness for agency inspections.
Incident Response:
Respond to incidents

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • Significant experience with hazardous, biological, and chemical waste management.
  • Knowledge of San Diego County HAZMAT and CERS.
  • Understanding of chemicals, spill response, and chemical and biological waste management.
  • Lock-out/tag-out knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills to work with all departments from research through manufacturing.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • GMP experience.
