Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional 3/4 to join our Environmental, Health, Safety, and Fire Protection team in San Diego, California . The selected applicant will be responsible for successfully supporting EHS programs at our Mission Systems Sector San Diego sites.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Reviews and interprets existing and proposed EHS regulations to determine applicability and impact for sites. Assists with implementation of programs to comply.
Partners with engineers, technicians, and management to support the integration of EHS into the design of new or altered processes, operations and building construction projects.
Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation.
Supports site environmental compliance and sustainability programs.
Completes audits, IH sampling, ergonomic assessments, and assists in pollution prevention activities.
Develops, implements, and maintains EHS programs for manufacturing, labs, and office buildings to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation.
Conducts internal compliance inspections and identifies actions necessary to meet local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Works to continuously improve the culture, awareness, and accountability of EHS programs.
Interfaces with regulatory representatives, senior management, and site employees.
Additional roles and responsibilities may include:
Provides timely and accurate submission of necessary reports to internal stakeholders, electronic databases, and regulatory agencies.
Writes and updates EHS plans and procedures.
Applies for new permits and renewals.
Conducts incident investigations.
Coordinates EHS training for employees and conducts instructor-led EHS training.
The position can be filled at a Level 3 or 4.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
Bachelor’s (BA or BS) degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, occupational safety, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Science (MS) in the same disciplines with 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience in conducting incident investigations, inspections, personal protective equipment assessments, and job hazard analysis and EHS training.
Experience with managing various EHS compliance programs (such as hazardous waste, storm water, wastewater, air, occupational safety, etc.) based on the review and interpretation of EHS regulations; experience in…
