The Project Engineer drives technical execution across the full development lifecycle of unmanned aerial systems, from concept through flight test and production readiness. This role sits at the center of engineering, manufacturing, and flight test, translating system requirements into executable plans while coordinating cross‑functional teams to rapidly develop, integrate, and mature flight‑ready platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Manage technical maturity of UAS platforms from concept through production, aligning engineering execution with program timelines and milestones.
  • Lead and support formal design and readiness reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR) while enabling rapid build–fly–learn iteration.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure complete system integration across airframe, avionics, propulsion, autonomy, and payloads.
  • Translate mission objectives into system requirements, interfaces, and architecture documentation.
  • Identify and communicate technical risks, integration challenges, and airworthiness considerations.
  • Support ground and flight test planning, execution, data review, and post‑flight assessments.
  • Improve engineering workflows, systems engineering practices, and agile execution processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of aerospace or defense engineering experience, including 2+ years in a Project Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience with aircraft or UAS platform development, integration, or flight system maturation.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and systems engineering methodologies.
  • Proficiency with CAD and analysis tools such as Solid Works, MATLAB, or Simulink.
  • Strong communication, organization, and cross‑functional coordination skills.
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; ability to operate in fast‑paced, iterative development environments.

Salary Range: $130k-$165k
