LEE + RO’s City of Industry office is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. Known for our practical, hands-on engineering approach, this role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful work in California’s water infrastructure sector. You will be at the forefront of design, coordination with stakeholders, while managing teams across disciplines and locations.
In this role, you’ll oversee and provide technical guidance for critical water and wastewater treatment projects. You must have experience in water and wastewater treatment technologies, be up to date with the regulations, and have a strong desire to be on the forefront of the emerging technologies in this area. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure project success, from design through construction.
You will also from time to time make field visits to observe, troubleshoot, and report on construction activities related to treatment processes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and select water and wastewater treatment processes, optimize operations and provide guidance for these treatment projects.
- Prepare feasibility studies, technical memos, and preliminary design reports, for water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Prepare calculations and perform modeling for water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Prepare bid-ready design documents, including plans, specifications, construction cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment systems.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND EXECUTION
- Manage and execute work on water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Develop and manage scope, schedule and budget, and negotiate agreements.
- Ensure direct coordination and collaboration with clients to achieve successful project outcome.
- Manage the delivery and execution of multiple large and small projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards, including oversight of subconsultants.
- Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objectives.
- Actively interact with assigned clients, participate in client-related activities, and promote LEE+RO's presence through involvement in client and networking initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of active experience in the water/ wastewater sector in California
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Environmental / Chemical Engineering
- State of California PE Certification. However, if no CA PE Certification, then must have a valid PE license for any state within the USA and be willing to obtain a California PE within 1 year of employment.
- Understanding of budgets and financial metrics
- Supervisory and mentoring skills, strong engineering judgement, and applicable technical skills.
SALARY RANGE: $130,000 - $208,000/yr .
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and will be commensurate with the individual’s skills, experience, and education. These ranges are subject to modification in the future.

WORK LOCATION AND SCHEDULE
All staff are expected to report to office in person at least three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) and have the option of working remotely two days a week (Monday and Friday).
This position will be at our City of Industry office.
