Summary
Our client is currently seeking individuals for a full-time position as a Mechanical Project Engineer located in the San Diego, CA area. With nearly a century of experience, they prioritize safety and offer industry-leading services including building information modeling (BIM), design/build solutions, sustainable practices, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations.
Duties & Responsibilities- Project estimating (take-off & analysis)
- Project scheduling (manpower scheduling)
- Managing RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Preparing submittal packages
- Managing flow of contractor-provided submittal data
- Assisting in data population of forms
- Preparing project progress billings
- Technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of HVAC air equipment, piping systems, and HVAC & plumbing equipment
- Basic working knowledge of HVAC & plumbing design and system operation
- Understanding of commercial & industrial construction sequences
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating and testing procedures for HVAC systems
- Familiarity with ASHRAE data & guidelines
- Proficiency with MS Project, MS Access or other database programs, MS Excel & Word, and internet research
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills for handling and archiving technical data
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Industrial, or Structural Engineering, or 5+ years industry experience as a Construction Project Engineer
- Experience with project administration, scheduling, productivity analysis, cost control, and procurement
