Job Description:

The Senior Plumbing Engineer leads the design and coordination of plumbing systems for complex projects while mentoring junior staff and supporting project delivery.

This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced technical expertise and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and coordination of plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, natural gas, compressed air, laboratory, and specialty systems
• Perform and review plumbing load calculations, pressure loss calculations, and equipment sizing
• Prepare plans, specifications, and construction documents in compliance with applicable codes and client requirements
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for conformance with design intent
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
• Coordinate plumbing designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
• Conduct site observations and field verification during design and construction
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver cost-effective and code-compliant solutions
• Stay current with California Plumbing Code, Title 24, water conservation standards, and sustainable design practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of progressive plumbing design experience leading medium- to large-scale projects
• California PE license or ability to obtain licensure
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and plumbing design software
• Strong knowledge of California Plumbing Code, Title 24, and related regulations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven experience mentoring staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
