DescriptionNSI requires a Structural Airframe Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) II to support PMA 265 MAGNA I program office. The candidate will perform duties typical of a structural technician.
- Maintain aircraft landing gear system, brakes and related pneumatic systems, reservoir pressurization, emergency actuating devices, pumps, valves, regulators, cylinders, lines, and fittings.
- Service pressure accumulators, emergency air bottles, oleo struts, reservoirs, and master brake cylinders.
- Inspect, remove, and replace components of hydraulic systems; replace gaskets, packing, and wipers.
- Remove, repair, and replace aircraft fuselage, wings, fixed and movable surfaces, airfoils, wheels, tires, controls, and mechanisms.
- Remove, install, and rig aircraft flight control surfaces.
- Fabricate and assemble metal components; make minor repairs to aircraft skin.
- Install rivets and metal fasteners; paint; weld; fabricate repairs for composite components.
Background and experience on F/A-18 A/C preferred. The SME must be able to perform all functions in the primary area of expertise and cross‑pollinate in other aircraft functional areas. Proficient in corrosion identification, removal, treatment and prevention. Provide and assimilate cross‑training so all team members can assist in all functional areas.

EducationBA/BS desired but not required.
ExperienceAt least 8 years background and experience on fixed‑wing tactical aircraft desired. Maintenance on the F/A-18 A/C preferred. Familiarization and experience with Technical Directive installation highly desired. A & P license is a plus. Ability to perform all functions in the primary area of expertise and cross‑pollinate in other aircraft functional areas. Provide and assimilate cross‑training so all team members can assist in all functional areas.
Experience as a QAR/CDQAR/CDI inspection of maintenance procedures that will affect safety of flight desired.
This position will require some travel.
Security ClearanceSecret Clearance is required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
