  • Design meaningful and interactive learning experiences that bridge nursing theory with real-world clinical application.
  • Facilitate learning using the nursing judgment model, emphasizing clinical reasoning, diagnostic skills, and individualized care planning.
  • Develop clinical assignments that are appropriately challenging and prioritize both student learning and patient safety.
  • Supervise, guide, and evaluate students during clinical experiences, offering constructive, timely, and supportive feedback.
  • Assess student performance and provide detailed, growth-oriented feedback on clinical paperwork, reflections, and care plans.
  • Proactively identify students who may be struggling and connect them with academic or personal support resources early in the semester.
  • Participate in regular teaching team meetings to align course content, expectations, and strategies for promoting student success.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with clinical partners; serve as a representative of the CCSF Nursing Program in external collaborations.
  • Contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts by actively participating in outcomes assessment and maintaining open communication with clinical site partners.
Your role in our CCSF and Registered Nursing community
  • Join department meetings and committees to help shape our program.
  • Participate in curriculum development and program improvement.
  • Stay current with best practices in mental health nursing and ACEN standards.
  • Teach 3 lecture hours and 18 clinical hours weekly (18.3 workload per semester).
  • Work flexibly across day, evening, and occasional weekend schedules.
