Duties
* You will present courses to production personnel to provide practical application of technical requirements and trade theories and practices through classroom instruction, demonstrations, and mock-up simulations.
* You will determine course content, training aids, instructional approach, and modify teachings to accomplish the commands mission in the repair and maintenance of assigned classes of naval ships.
* You will develop, revise, and adapt assigned courses.
* You will prepare lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives.
* You will conduct the training and assess progress of students in meeting desired objectives, including advising and assisting them to improve their performance.
* You will be responsible for the improvement and modification of training for assigned courses.
* You will recommend adjustments or modifications to training in accordance with class evaluations.
* You will maintain training records and develop training reports.
* You will conduct need assessments and task analyses to determine learning objectives and develop training schedules.
* You will determine course content, training aids, instructional approach and modify teaching approaches. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Analyzing course material for ship maintenance and developing curriculum to provide classroom instruction on topics including workplace safety, certifications and requirements in order for workforce operations to perform efficiently and effectively. GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-11 Completion of a Ph.
D or equivalent doctoral degree; OR Completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR Possession of LL.M., if related; OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience GS-09 Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree;
