Position descriptionThe Preuss School UC San Diego is seeking qualified Mathematics teachers to join our applicant pool for anticipated openings in the 2026/2027 school year.
The Preuss School at UC San Diego is a nationally recognized charter middle and high school dedicated to providing a rigorous college prep education for low-income scholars who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. The Preuss School also serves as a model school to study and develop the best practices in preparation of students of diverse and under-represented backgrounds to access higher education.
Under the supervision of the Principal, The Preuss School Mathematics teachers will provide instruction, encourage student progress, and manage the learning environment. Teach content and skills in subject matter, utilizing courses of study adopted by the California State Curriculum Standards as guidelines. Adapt subject material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students. Establish and maintain an environment conducive to positive teacher/student relations.
Promote an environment which respects and values students ideas and ways of thinking. Establish, maintain and support standards of personal conduct and discipline in accordance with the current discipline for an orderly, productive learning environment. Use a variety of assessments to monitor and evaluate the learning progress of each student and to make instructional decisions.

Mathematics, or the same teaching credential from states that are members of the NASDTEC Interstate Reciprocity Agreements and have signed a reciprocity agreement with California, and Certificate or equivalent authorization from out-of-state. - Copy of Degree and Transcripts - Please include a copy of your transcripts to determine level of education.
