Rate is set in accordance with the City College of San Francisco Faculty Salary Schedule for hourly assignments. Currently the rate upon entry is from $90.90 to $160.48 per hour depending upon placement. TEMPORARY, PART-TIME POOLEC §87482

This position is a part-time position in the Health Care Technology Department. The teaching assignment requires in-person instruction.

• Teach in-person Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, CPR, and other certification courses including lecture and skills content, in the classroom, lab, and/or clinical setting.
• Teach in-person any additional courses within the CCSF Health Care Technology Department as assigned and qualified.
• Teach in-person day, evening, and/or Saturday classes or classes at one or more sites as required.
• Participate in departmental duties including, but not limited to, curriculum development, selection of appropriate instructional materials, revisions of testing materials, and completing course SLOs.
• Assist in student recruitment, enrollment, and clinical placements.
• Perform duties associated with instructing students and assessing their progress in relation to identified student learning outcomes.
• Participate in assessment necessary for program evaluation and revision.
• Maintain departmental policies in the classroom and maintain accreditation standards.
• Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with professional training sites.
• Participate in other college-wide and departmental functions, such as committees, workshops, staff meetings, and faculty evaluations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the program advisor or department chair.

• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).
• Earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT;
• Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT;
• Hold a fully-satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Health and Physical Care Services and Related Technologies (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) REQUIRES that program directors possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree and "should have a Master's degree". The State EMS authority and EMS regulation requires that all principal instructors of EMT and Paramedic programs maintain current California licensure as a Paramedic and must complete a minimum of 40 hours of education in adult learning principals, which may be achieved by completing the National EMS Instructor course.

• Experience with innovative and student-centered teaching practices, especially medical simulation.
• Knowledge of research principles and ability to apply evidence-based medicine to teaching practice.
• Current instructor certifications in CPR, ACLS, Trauma, and/or Pediatrics.
• Two years of Emergency Medical experience within the past five years.
• Experience as a Paramedic or Registered Nurse with five years of experience in Emergency Medicine.
