Rate is set in accordance with the City College of San Francisco Faculty Salary Schedule for hourly assignments. Currently the rate upon entry is from $90.90 to $160.48 per hour depending upon placement. TEMPORARY, PART-TIME POOL EC §87482

Position

Description:

This position is a part-time position in the Health Care Technology Department. The teaching assignment requires in-person instruction.

Job Duties
  • Teach in-person Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (DCS) courses, cardiac ultrasound, Physics of Ultrasound and Cardiac Congenital Ultrasound in the classroom, lab, and/or clinical setting.
  • Perform responsibilities related to program coordination and advisory including: program accreditation, coordinator of clinical placements, advisory board meetings, grant proposals for program funding, annual program assessment/review, and coordination of part-time instructors.
  • Teach in-person day, evening, classes or clinical labs at one or more sites as required.
  • Participate in departmental duties including, but not limited to, curriculum development, selection of appropriate instruction material, and revisions of testing material.
  • Assist in student recruitment, enrollment, and clinical placements.
  • Perform duties associated with instructing students and assessing their progress in relation to identified student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in assessment necessary for program evaluation and revision.
  • Maintain departmental policies in the classroom and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with professional training sites.
  • Participate in other college-wide and departmental functions, such as committees, workshops, staff meetings, and faculty evaluations.
  • Supports an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
  • Participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the program chair.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).
  • Earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT;
  • Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT;
  • Hold a fully-satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Health and Physical Care Services and Related Technologies (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Complete the cohort program length of 15 months or two years.
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Program.
  • Experience as a cardiac sonographer with five years of experience in cardiac ultrasound.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and teaching experience in cardiac ultrasound and electrocardiography.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of teaching/precepting ultrasound students in the hospital-based or clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform cardiac ultrasound examinations.
  • Evidence of successful leadership experience at the university or college level using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students.
