Position: M/M Special education teacher needed in san diego + Sign on bonus

Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) – UCSD School (8th–12th Grade Campus) Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and credentialed Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher to join our 8th–12th grade UCSD‑area campus. This is a full‑time, on‑site position supporting a caseload of up to 14 students with mild to moderate behavioral needs. Our ideal candidate is student‑centered, collaborative, and passionate about supporting diverse learners.

Position Details
  • Grade Levels: 8th–12th
  • Caseload:
    Up to 14 students
  • Student Needs:
    Mild/Moderate disabilities with moderate behavioral support levels
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday (Full‑time)
  • Start Date:

    Approximately 2 weeks after acceptance
  • Compensation: $55–65 per hour
  • Incentives:

    Sign‑on bonus available
  • Benefits:

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Provide specialized academic instruction in a structured setting.
  • Manage and monitor student progress using data‑driven methods.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families.
  • Support students with behavioral needs through proactive, positive strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings and school team activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate or Mild/Moderate Support Needs).
  • Experience working with middle or high school students preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support students with behavioral needs in a structured environment.
