ETHNIC STUDIES:
Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)

District Wide – City, Mesa, Miramar, and continuing education centers

Adjunct (part‑time/substitute)

Open until filled. The San Diego Community College District accepts applications for the adjunct pool on a continuous basis. Qualified applicants will be considered for assignments in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Applications are purged approximately one year from submittal.

• Teach all scheduled classes (lecture and/or lab) in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Be available to students outside of class hours.
• Maintain current knowledge of subject matter, professional conduct, and ethics.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member, including accurate record keeping.
• Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas and issues.

• Master’s degree in African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino/Chicana‑O Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American Studies, American Indian Studies, or a related Ethnic Studies field (or equivalent).
• Degree from a regionally accredited institution.

• California Community College Instructor Credential in Ethnic Studies (valid for life).
• Foreign degree evaluations by a NACES or ACEI member organization (if applicable).

• Submit official college transcripts.
• Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Examination (renewed every 4 years).
• Complete a live scan fingerprinting and obtain clearance before first day.
• Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.

Pay is based on the Adjunct College Salary Schedule. Positions are FLSA exempt and do not accrue overtime.
