Hiring DetailsOpen until filled. The San Diego Community College District accepts applications for the adjunct pool on a continuous basis. Qualified applicants will be considered for assignments in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Applications are purged approximately one year from submittal.
Major Responsibilities- Teach all scheduled classes (lecture and/or lab) in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Be available to students outside of class hours.
- Maintain current knowledge of subject matter, professional conduct, and ethics.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member, including accurate record keeping.
- Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas and issues.
- Master’s degree in African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino/Chicana‑O Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American Studies, American Indian Studies, or a related Ethnic Studies field (or equivalent).
- Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- California Community College Instructor Credential in Ethnic Studies (valid for life).
- Foreign degree evaluations by a NACES or ACEI member organization (if applicable).
- Submit official college transcripts.
- Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Examination (renewed every 4 years).
- Complete a live scan fingerprinting and obtain clearance before first day.
- Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.

Salary Schedule and BenefitsPay is based on the Adjunct College Salary Schedule. Positions are FLSA exempt and do not accrue overtime.
