Responsibilities- Serve as a University Student Conduct Officer to process, investigate, and resolve non-academic student conduct cases, residential life community contacts, and student compliance incidents for individual students and registered student organizations.
- Serve as Alternative Resolution Facilitator to manage and resolve sensitive and complex interpersonal issues lending to a restorative resolution.
- Provide consultation, advice, and assistance to students, staff, and faculty about student-related policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Develop and facilitate trainings, workshops, and outreach events about departmental programs.
- Coordinate Student Conduct Reviews and Title IX Hearings as needed and manage sanction reduction requests and appeals for non-academic and Title IX cases.
- Support compliance with policies around Title IX issues and coordinate sanction programs for the department as time allows.
- Part of the UAW union moving forward.
- Hybrid work schedule: 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and delivering workshops and training sessions; proficient public speaking and presentation skills. Proficient experience and understanding of student learning outcomes assessment.
- Understanding of the developmental and educational context of the student conduct process; knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
- Proficient in utilizing student conduct databases, student information systems, and Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of common university-specific programs.
- Knowledge of the interrelationship of student conduct policy with governmental laws and university rules and regulations; ability to follow FERPA, Clery Act and Title IX requirements.
- Knowledge of university processes and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a diverse range of people and offices across the university.
- Service orientation, active listening, critical thinking; ability to maintain composure, diffuse client anger and anxiety with tact and diplomacy, and follow up on assignments.
- Strong problem identification, reasoning, organizational, and project management skills; ability to interpret and follow written policies and protocols.
- Ability to multi-task with strong verbal and written communication, organization, and deadline-management capabilities.
- Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to promote positive working relationships and exercise sound judgment when interacting with campus and community members.
- Knowledge of University processes and procedures; familiarity with UC San Diego administrative structure, college system, student services, residential life, and academic programs.
- Strong understanding of the Office of Student Conduct mission and UC San Diego Principles of Community, including long- and short-range goals.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $55,400 - $93,800 (will be prorated if appointment percentage
