Position Type: Part‑time temporary, non‑benefit based, with an anticipated end date of May 31, 2026. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University depending on performance and continued funding.
The Coordinator of Academic Advising plays an integral role in providing academic and student support for undergraduate and graduate business students. The Coordinator supports academic advising and operational logistics, provides daily assistance and guidance to members of the Student Success team, and supports business processes, operations and special projects. The Coordinator collaborates with other Knauss School employees and across academic program suites to improve student retention and support overall retention goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask, and the willingness to work some evenings and weekends are required.
- Manage the appointment system to ensure a streamlined process for students, advisors and staff.
- Monitor the Advising Support emails in case management, handle non‑routine student inquiries and direct students to appropriate university resources.
- Assist students with articulation agreements, transfer of credits, independent studies, substitution/waiver of residency, international program transfer evaluations, course overloads, and graduation petitions.
- Support the SSC with processes related to onboarding of transfer students, including communication for the registration and advising process, and coordinate transfer student registration and advising activities.
- Support the SSC with the declaration of major and onboarding process for continuing students.
- Develop and manage business processes for all form submissions between students, advisors, deans, registrar, department chairs, and other departments.
- Oversee course registration for specified graduate programs.
- Ensure all students planning to graduate submit a petition to graduate at the specified time.
- Assist with enrollment verification and monitoring for specified graduate programs for census and Knauss enrollment tracking purposes.
- Act as a liaison between students and the university financial aid office, student accounts, registrar and Torero Hub offices, maintaining good working relationships with key personnel in student services departments.
- Assist with scheduling, proctoring, and processing the outcomes of graduate challenge exams.
- Ensure students receive credit for combined degree courses on both their undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
