Assistant Varsity Track and Field Coach (Sprint and Jump)

, a coeducational independent day school in San Diego serving students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12.

The assistant coach will support the coordination of the varsity track and field program, teaching, coaching, and instructing student‑athletes, and performing administrative duties necessary for program development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the sport, including CIF and NFHS rules and regulations.
  • Organize and supervise safe, efficient practices and games, preparing the team for competition.
  • Model ethical, professional behavior and serve as a positive role model for athletes, coaches, parents, and officials.
  • Develop team concepts within Parker’s values‑driven framework, promoting skill development and sportsmanship.
  • Assist students in reaching their full potential and provide an enjoyable training environment.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities: medical and academic eligibility, grade checks, record keeping, equipment inventory, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, faculty, administrators, other coaches, and the community.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one year of coaching experience; collegiate athletic participation or coaching preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, coaches, staff, parents, and administrators.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously.
  • Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, run, bend, lift, and carry.
Salary and Benefits

Seasonal/part‑time position paying $18.75/hr not eligible for benefits.
