Responsibilities- Provide instruction in lecture and lab settings as assigned by the department.
- Deliver instruction according to established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain current knowledge of subject matter and uphold professional conduct and ethics.
- Be available to students outside of class for support and consultation.
- Teach all scheduled classes and maintain accurate instructional records.
- Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.
Salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and verifications of previous work experience. Eligible instructors will be placed on the appropriate step of the Adjunct College Salary Schedule upon submission of documentation. View the current salary schedule on the district’s website.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology plus a Master’s degree in Sociology, Biological Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Genetics, or Paleontology; or
- Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life) in Anthropology or Archaeology; or
- Master’s degree in any biological science; or
- Bachelor’s degree in any biological science plus a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Marine Science; or
- Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life) in Biological Sciences; or
- Master’s degree in Philosophy; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy plus a Master’s degree in Humanities or Religious Studies; or
- Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life) in Philosophy and Religion; or
- Master’s degree in Geography; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography plus a Master’s degree in Geology, History, Meteorology, or Oceanography; or
- Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life) in Geography; or
- Master’s degree in Sociology; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology plus a Master’s degree in Anthropology, any ethnic studies, Social Work, or Psychology; or
- Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life) in Sociology; or
- The equivalent.
- California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life) in any of the following:
Anthropology, Archaeology, any Biological Science, Philosophy, or Sociology.
- Submit official college transcripts.
- Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every 4 years).
- Have fingerprints taken via Live Scan computer; clearance required prior to first day of employment.
- Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
