Job Type: Temporary/Instructional Faculty – Full‑time and part‑time appointments available

Job Description

The Department of Physics is accepting applications for a part‑time and full‑time lecturer pool. Candidates will be invited to teach a variety of introductory and advanced lecture and laboratory courses. Temporary appointments may be full‑ or part‑time, with part‑time positions typically created shortly before a term begins. Fall term starts mid‑August and ends late‑December; spring term starts mid‑January and ends mid‑May, with potential summer session teaching opportunities.

Initial appointments are usually one semester or one academic year, renewable contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continued availability. Applications remain in the applicant pool for the academic year in which they apply.

Salary Information

  • Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
  • Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
  • Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
  • Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211

As per Education Code 89521, applicants must disclose any final administrative or judicial decision within the last seven years determining that the applicant committed sexual harassment.
