- Doctorate degree or terminal degree in the field (ABD may be considered depending on experience and training).
- University teaching experience.
- Demonstrated currency in subject matter.
- Demonstrated ability or interest in working with underrepresented populations in higher education.
- Expertise or experience in any of the following areas:
- Forensic Psychology
- Behavioral Neuroscience
- Neuropsychology
- Cognitive Neuroscience

As of July 2024, the classification salary range is $5,507 - $15,211 per month. Most Visiting Faculty employees are hired at the beginning of the range.
