District Wide. Partner campuses:
City, Mesa, Miramar and continuing education centers. Must live within commuting distance to San Diego.
Pay:
Adjunct College Salary Schedule as per official transcripts. Salary placement contingent upon receipt of official transcripts or foreign degree evaluations.
Assignment:
Part‑time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students. Classes may include lecture, lab, day/evening/weekend, and/or off‑campus sessions.
- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain accurate records and timely documentation.
- Ensure an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning, encouraging free discussion.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Be available to students outside of class as required by department.
- Degrees from regionally accredited institutions.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a discipline that includes learning assistance or tutoring at the college, or in education, educational psychology, instructional psychology or a related adult learning theory emphasis.
- Professional conduct and ethics standards.
- Experience in adult learning environments.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations.
- Ability to collaborate with department faculty and staff.
- Foreign degree evaluations from NACES or ACEI for applicants with outside U.S. degrees.
- Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam, renewed every 4 years.
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance required before first day of employment.
- Original documents proving U.S. work eligibility.
- Submit official college transcripts at all times.
- Complete Request for Equivalency Form if degree does not match listed disciplines.
- Transfer to any site may occur at Chancellors discretion.
