OB Hospitalist – Full-Time Contract (San Diego, CA)

Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern California’s only standalone women’s hospital. SMB is part of Sharp Health Care, a 206-bed not-for-profit hospital delivering more babies than any other hospital in California.
- Shift rate: $2,500/shift (12 hrs)
- PAID Malpractice and Tail coverage
- Hospital shifts: 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
- 2-night shifts per week considered full-time
- Clinic shifts: 8:00 am–5:00 pm (optional)
- Full specialty back up including 24 hr perinatal and GYN/ONC service with dedicated OB anesthesia
- Responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic)
- Most calls taken with experienced CNMs; back-up physicians always available
- On-site overnight provider room
- Hospital delivers ~9,000 babies per year, highest volume in the state of California
- Group delivers ~4,000 babies per year
- Southern California’s largest Level III NICU with advanced care for high-risk pregnancy
- Comfortable covering a busy L&D with at least 3 years’ experience; 5 years preferred
- Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify)
- Must be Board Certified to be considered
