Visual Information Specialist

Venesco, LLC is looking for a Visual Information Specialist to support the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA with design and print marketing, video, photography, social media management, digital marketing, web management, and communications.

This full-time position is based onsite with an approved telework agreement in place, allowing for hybrid work. Work hours to coincide with the standard command business hours of . The current requirement is minimum 3 days at the customer site per week, days of the week may vary. Please note, the telework agreement and ability to work remotely are subject to change based on organizational needs and policies.

Qualified applicants must be US Citizens and hold or be eligible for a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications & Job Duties

Design & Print Marketing:

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Confident in creating a wide array of print materials with uniform branding such as; business cards, research posters, brochures, and one-pagers, as well as designing and maintaining presentation decks
  • Proven experience in color theory, style, typography, and branding guidelines
  • Ability to make recommendations for program/project improvement in team setting
  • Initiative in planning out new creative information materials while collaborating with different research departments, ie infographics, tri-folds, fact sheets
  • Document formatting for publication
    • Working knowledge of necessary file type and color conversions
    • Working with editor and research operations team on corrections in content and layout
  • Aid the other Navy Medicine Research commands with any needed marketing materials or general design help when requested
  • Video & Photography:

  • Proficiency in video pre and post-production, Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut
    • Experience in storyboarding and idea development
    • Working knowledge of sound and lighting design & equipment set up
    • 3D modeling a plus
    • Sound design/editing a plus
  • 2+ years motion graphics and animation experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in photography with & video capture with a DSLR
  • Proficiency cross-platform on Mac and PC, as well as various social media and web formatting needs
  • Social Media Management and Digital Marketing:

  • Capture and track public sentiment and interests around the industry or program.
  • Support the use of social media based platforms i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter, development and integration into NHRC systems.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics
    • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal information program, media relations, and community relations programs in achieving greater understanding of NHRC’s mission and programs.
  • Assist in planning and implementing comprehensive public affairs campaigns to enhance the understanding of the agency's programs among the general public and specialized groups and organizations.
  • Disseminate a wide range of information and data concerning the nature and objectives of NHRC programs, employing all types of media, including radio, television, newspapers, magazines, professional and scientific journals, still and motion pictures, posters, exhibits, social media and advertisements
  • Web Management:

  • Working knowledge with SharePoint as platform for web hosting
  • Collaborate and support IT in asset creation and UI/ UX design for the Intranet and Internet
    • Stay accountable for creating necessary graphics and sending information updates to the IT Webmaster
  • Maintain current site pdfs, images, and content on the public-facing website
    • Work with portfolio research teams to make sure content is correct and up to date
    • Work with research teams and IT Webmaster to create new content pages as needed
  • Improves search engine optimization and general discovery of content by target groups
  • Analyze web traffic, analytics, and engagement on public-facing site
    • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Front end development skills a plus
  • Communications:

  • Support the Public Affairs officer with technology related tasks & set up
    • Creation of Command, external and internal slide decks
