The Reconstruction Manager leads the reconstruction division and is responsible for the overall performance, growth, and profitability of reconstruction operations for the San Diego franchise. This role oversees Project Managers and their associated trade teams, ensuring residential and commercial reconstruction projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
The Reconstruction Manager must be comfortable managing projects of all sizes—from small residential jobs to large, complex commercial or multimillion-dollar projects—while supporting sales efforts, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring profitable project execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesDivision Leadership
- Lead and manage the reconstruction division, including Project Managers and their trade teams and subcontractors.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management to ensure strong team performance.
- Assist with recruiting and developing construction personnel and subcontractor relationships.
- Oversee residential and commercial reconstruction projects from sale through completion.
- Assign projects to Project Managers and monitor schedules, budgets, and project execution.
- Conduct regular Work-in-Progress meetings and ensure construction processes and safety standards are followed.
- Support the sale and closing of reconstruction projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, adjusters, and commercial partners.
- Ensure consistent communication and positive customer experience throughout each project.
- Review and approve estimates, budgets, and change orders.
- Monitor job costs, project margins, and overall division profitability.
- Support budgeting and revenue growth initiatives for the reconstruction division.
- Ensure all work meets company standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
- Address escalated project or customer issues to ensure successful project completion.
- 7 years of construction or reconstruction management experience
- Experience managing multiple projects and project managers simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, scheduling, and job costing
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Restoration or insurance reconstruction experience preferred
- Frequent travel to job sites throughout the service area
- Walking, standing, and navigating active construction sites
- Ability to climb ladders and access construction areas as needed
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25–50 pounds
- Exposure to jobsite conditions including noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
- Frequent driving and computer use for project management and communication
- $120,000 – $140,000, plus quarterly bonuses
