Assistant Project Manager

Overview

Our client is a respected commercial general contractor based out of San Diego County and their services include preconstruction, design-build, construction management and general construction. Their clients span across the western United States and the markets they serve include retail, big-box, industrial, office, financial institutions, multifamily and tenant improvements.

• Manage construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling all elements of the project under the direction of a Project Manager or VP.
• Be a results-oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and employees; resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.

• 2+ years of experience in the construction industry
• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
• Experience in the bid process with sub-contractors
• Experience with quantity takeoff and estimating
• Ability to read blueprints, schedules, specs, and other construction documents
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, Outlook, Procore and Bluebeam
• Ability to interact with external and internal clients at the executive level
• Ability to manage and coach others in vocational and administrative skills
• Capable of multitasking, problem solving and managing priorities
