We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Prevailing Wage Project Coordinator to support and manage commercial flooring projects that require strict prevailing wage compliance. This role is critical to ensuring certified payroll accuracy, labor compliance, and smooth coordination between field crews, office staff, vendors, and general contractors. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, understands prevailing wage requirements, and can juggle multiple projects while keeping documentation, schedules, and reporting on track.
This position plays a key role in protecting the company’s compliance standing while supporting efficient project execution and growth.
- Coordinate prevailing wage requirements across multiple commercial flooring projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations.
- Track labor classifications, wage rates, fringes, apprenticeships, and job determinations for each project.
- Collect, review, and submit certified payroll reports accurately and on time; resolve discrepancies with field teams, subcontractors, and agencies as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for general contractors, labor compliance agencies, and internal teams regarding prevailing wage documentation and audits.
- Support project managers with contract compliance, job setup, closeout documentation, and ongoing reporting requirements.
- Maintain organized project files including wage determinations, payroll records, statements of compliance, contracts, and correspondence.
- Monitor project schedules and labor hours to ensure alignment with contract requirements and cost controls.
- Assist with onboarding subcontractors and vendors, verifying compliance documentation and insurance requirements.
- Identify process improvements to streamline prevailing wage tracking, reporting, and communication across projects.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on prevailing wage rules, classifications, and best practices.
- Proven experience coordinating prevailing wage projects within construction, preferably in commercial flooring or related trades.
- Strong working knowledge of certified payroll, labor classifications, wage determinations, and compliance reporting.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with project tracking tools, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and document management platforms (Excel, SharePoint, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field crews, project managers, general contractors, and compliance agencies.
- Ability to problem-solve compliance issues quickly and proactively.
- Construction or project coordination background preferred; familiarity with commercial flooring operations is a strong plus.
