Summary

Position located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department in Navy Region Southwest. Primary purpose is to oversee facility functions, perform first‑level supervisory duties and ensure policies and procedures are followed.

Duties
  • Review schedule of functions for shift.
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are available, room arrangement completed and activities operating as scheduled.
  • Call and schedule staff as necessary to meet facility needs.
  • Monitor operations of facility or assigned areas, periodically checking to identify and resolve problems.
  • Enforce facility rules and explain admittance policies to ensure patrons are authorized to use facility.
  • Maintain a logbook with record of significant occurrences during shift.
  • Issue change funds and control cash; perform unscheduled cash counts; enter records and reports on PC.
  • Ensure change machines have adequate change.
  • Prior to closing building, complete fire safety checks, empty ash trays, unplug unnecessary equipment, secure doors and windows, check locks, set security alarm system.
  • Perform other related or incidental duties as assigned; assist with special events as needed.
Requirements
  • Successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check. Resolve discrepancies as a condition of employment.
  • Meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation (fingerprint , inquiry forms).
Qualifications
  • Fine sense of public and customer relations.
  • Knowledge of military club operation, regulations and techniques pertaining to private parties.
  • Effective communication skills and tact to deal diplomatically with superiors, peers, subordinates and customers.
  • Capable of handling monies; attend MWR Cash Handling Training within first 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to use PC computers and knowledge of various software programs.
  • Account for materials, equipment and money placed in care.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience providing knowledge of club, restaurant, business operations, or equivalent leadership experience.
