Continental Tide is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented individual to serve as our Logistician II for our San Diego, CA office. This role is critical in supporting shipboard repair and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) initiatives by ensuring timely and compliant sourcing, staging, and shipment of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in logistics or warehouse operations within a DoD or defense contractor environment and will be well-versed in material MIL specifications and DoD compliance protocols.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure that all services are delivered and all tasks are performed in accordance with technical and contractual requirements.
- Maintain a professional staff and ensure that they follow established Company and Government protocols, policies, directives, and procedures at all times.
- Build relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.
- Material receipt and inspection, warehouse, tool and material inventory control, material and tooling sourcing, procurement, staging and shipping management.
- Conduct, plan, and organize warehouse spaces based on utilization.
- Perform duties using Government approved warehouse/management control systems (to manage inventory; track day-to-day usage and set re-order points for projection of future stocks).
- Ensure warehouse, facility and annex resident storage areas are neat, organized, and efficient for operations.
- Coordinate with local Defense Reutilization and Marketing Offices (DRMO) or approved secured methods for disposing excess property. All disposal methods must be coordinated with Government representative.
- Support management personnel in their responsibilities and ensure they manage in line with relevant statutory, security, environmental, health, and compliance requirements.
- Perform additional duties outside of your standard responsibilities as needed to support production and project completion.
- Minimum of Five (5) years of experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and best practices with regards to OSHA practices, MSDS, warehouse safety, supply chain management and inventory control procedures.
- US Navy Shipboard installation and repair experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a current SECRET clearance.
- Ability to operate a forklift (Possess a forklift certification).
- Valid driver’s license is required.
