Membership Director

Overview

Responsible for developing the AGC membership marketing strategy, driving retention initiatives, and liaising with the membership committee to grow engagement and deliver value to prospective and current membership.

• Answer calls and meet with walk-ins for prospective members or current members with membership questions
• Identify key membership prospects in coordination with the Vice President of Operations and Director of Labor Relations
• Coordinate annual membership drives, contests, or initiatives to meet yearly membership goals (including those in the strategic plan)
• Visit prospective member offices to provide information on all AGC services
• Develop the annual survey to analyze member satisfaction and provide feedback to staff and board
• Utilize Membership Return on Investment (ROI) Calculator to retain members and increase involvement
• Provide venues for new members to network with current members at AGC meetings and events, and assist any mentors in the councils with reaching their new member by phone or email.
• Facilitate cross-committee collaboration via the membership committee meetings to brainstorm new member strategies and initiatives
• Participate in various AGC member services to build media and marketing on committees, councils, and mentorship programs; find leads; promote the membership contests/drives/initiatives, and walk members through the membership lifecycle
• Assist in the business development data entry in the database based on communications and updates to the online member directory
• Any and all other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management, marketing, communication, public relations, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field (or similar experience)
• Two to four years of related experience required
• Knowledge of the philosophy, mission and leadership needs of the AGC preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office platform and related software, as well as a knack for picking up database entry and other task-management platforms
• Displays a strong professional and work ethic, honesty and integrity
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to show initiative, be flexible, and prioritize tasks

This position is a full-time, in-house position out of our Lakeside HQ.

The salary range for this position is $75,. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience, qualifications, and education. Commission opportunities based on performance.
