Position Summary:

The Resource Management Department Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the administrative, financial, and operational needs of the Resource Management department within the Fowler College of Business. This position offers meaningful responsibility, professional autonomy, and the opportunity to work closely with leadership while supporting faculty, staff, and university operations.
- Provide comprehensive administrative and office support for the Resource Management department, working closely with the Resource Director to meet operational needs.
- Manage clerical, financial, and data-related tasks, including spreadsheets, reports, budget tracking, and routine financial analysis.
- Use enterprise systems and tools such as People Soft, OnBase, Oracle, Adaptive, and Microsoft Office to support departmental processes.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Independently manage multiple priorities and projects, applying judgment and problem-solving skills in an environment with evolving needs.
- Work within a respected academic college, supporting faculty and leadership in the Fowler College of Business.

- This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits-eligible, permanent/probationary position.
- This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
- This position is eligible for telecommuting up to 1 day per week, following a training period during which on-site presence is required.
The Fowler College of Business (FCB) consists of one school and four academic departments, a Dean, associate deans, and several directors and offices that support education and operations. The college offers undergraduate and graduate business programs and houses centers critical for the implementation of its strategic plan. SDSU is an instructional division of San Diego State University, administered by the Dean.
EducationAnd Experience
Entry to this classification requires functional knowledge of standard office procedures, the ability to understand and operate in varying organizational structures, and proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Some positions may require knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is required. These qualifications are typically obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or equivalent, combined with several years of related office work experience.
KeyQualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence and standard reports, with thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel, as well as Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Clerical, administrative, and financial experience, including working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform standard business math, including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections.
- Thorough knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, procedures, and office systems, with the ability to independently apply policies where guidelines may be absent.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently and be fully functional in all technical aspects of assigned work.
- Ability to handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including higher-level stakeholders and sensitive or confidential matters.
- Experience building and maintaining effective vendor relationships, with a focus on customer service and collaboration.
- Proficiency with People Soft (Temp Faculty Module), OnBase (Academic Transaction Module), Oracle, and Adaptive is preferred.
