The Academic Scheduling Lead Analyst plays a critical role at the intersection of data, people, and campus operations, shaping the academic experience for more than 30,000 students and 1,700 faculty. In this highly visible position, the analyst leads complex academic and event scheduling efforts that support daily instruction as well as the university’s most high‑profile events, including Commencement, Athletics, and Orientation.
What You’ll Do:- Lead and support the Academic Scheduling Unit, providing training, guidance, and operational oversight for academic and event scheduling.

SDSU scheduling, curriculum and reporting tools, and the Astra room scheduling system. - Plan and produce the official online class schedules for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms, serving 30,000+ students and 1,700 faculty.
- Use real‑time data and analysis to optimize classroom assignments, especially during high‑demand registration periods.
- Coordinate scheduling for campus‑shared spaces supporting academic activities, exams, athletics, student programs, and major university events such as Commencement.
- Make a visible campus‑wide impact by shaping how instructional and event spaces are used across the university.

- This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
- This position is eligible for telecommuting up to 2 days per week, following a training period during which on‑site presence is required.
Enrollment Services is comprised of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Prospective Student Services, Out of State, Specialized and International Recruitment, Enrollment Services Communications, Financial Aid, Scholarships, and the Cal Coast Student Financial Center. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation.
The primary function of the Office of the Registrar is to represent enrollment management programs and provide enrollment services to various constituents across the university in regard to the student academic record, academic class scheduling, and student advising tools. The Office of the Registrar provides service to the students through determination of eligibility for admission to the University, evaluation of academic records to determine the status of completion of degree requirements, assistance with course registration, and advising on the academic record in relation to transfer credit or CSU/SDSU policy.
The Office of the Registrar has three managers, two assistant directors, and 40 staff of varying classifications across four distinct units. The Evaluations and Academic Scheduling unit within the Office of the Registrar brings together the information and resources needed to strategically plan and provide support to the Colleges for enrollment opportunities to meet student enrollment needs.
