Overview
We have an outstanding Contract position for a Document Control Specialist to join a leading Company located in the San Diego, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $25-30 per hour
Job Responsibilities- Manage the document control system as a component of the quality management system.
- Responsible for processing and controlling the storage of Quality records.
- Routing and releasing controlled documents, maintaining the change control process, including formatting as required, and maintaining manuals and electronic logs.
- Manage the ECO process:
- Facilitate the ECO change control process for new, revised, and obsolete documents, including forms used for the ECO process.
- Maintain metrics, monitor the status of the ECOs on a monthly basis.
- Run CRB (Change Review Board) meetings and update ARAS records as needed.
- Release documents (move the files to a secure location).
- Maintain restricted access to paper and electronic documents control systems when applicable.
- Manage document archives and offsite storage (i.e. scanning, imaging system). This will include organization, archival and storage, and retrieval.
- Organize and provide documentation requested for review during audits and inspections by government agencies.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, both interdepartmentally and with external contract organizations. Maintain ECO alignment and synchronization across divisions as necessary.
- Checking Design drawing packages for completeness. This may include 2D/3D drawings.
- Process Data entry of BOMs into ERP per approved ECOs. This may include the use of automation tools such as BOM Wizard or other tools that help to optimize the process.
- Associate s degree.
- 5+ years of documentation control-related experience in a technical organization, drafting experience a plus.
- Knowledge of document control principles and procedures.
- Demonstrates strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiar with Solid Works.
- Understanding of Configuration Management.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and simple database applications.
- Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
