Overview

Job Title: Lab / Site Operations Associate (Contract)

Pay Rate: $25–$30 per hour

Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Lab / Site Operations Associate plays a key role in supporting daily laboratory operations and site logistics. This contractor position supports both the Technical Operations and Site Operations teams by ensuring laboratories, warehouse areas, and shared services run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Responsibilities span laboratory support, inventory and materials management, vendor coordination, and general site operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, wash, sterilize, and distribute laboratory glassware
  • Maintain inventory of lab consumables and chemical reagents
  • Receive, verify, and stock incoming inventory
  • Match packing slips to delivered goods and maintain accurate inventory logs
  • Track and log incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Distribute interdepartmental mail and supplies
  • Support front desk mail services
  • Provide backup coverage for warehouse receiving during core business hours (minimum 8:30 AM–5:00 PM)
  • Assist Site Operations and Facilities with site activities and events
  • Coordinate with third-party service vendors as needed
  • Organize and maintain laboratory storage and warehouse spaces
  • Conduct periodic laboratory safety readiness checks and inspections
  • Provide backup laboratory support such as buffer preparation, aliquoting, and sample labeling as needed
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School diploma required; 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage administrative tasks and workflows
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with inventory management is a plus
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and lab safety protocols is a plus
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Comfortable using standard office equipment such as PCs, scanners, copiers, and email systems
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) or ability to be trained
Internal and External Relationships
  • Work closely with internal teams including Purchasing, Facilities, and Technical Operations
  • Coordinate and communicate with external service vendors
  • Interact with multiple departments across the organization
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and external partners
