Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life, this position provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life, Assistant Directors of Residence Life, and Program Assistant. Manages the resident housing database (RMS) and college assignments/room selection process; responsible for key and electronic keycard management and security for all residents including facility keys and keycards;
maintains confidential student information and records; coordinates follow up related to judicial paperwork; coordinates the residence life office; oversees resident mail room and package distribution; assists in the preparation and execution of Eighth College student move-in and move-out; coordinates and schedules the use of conference room facilities; manages the Residence Life office email account and webpage and performs general administrative functions.
- Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skill with the ability to clearly, courteously, and diplomatically communicate information to a diverse group of people (including students, parents, staff, and the community) in person, on the telephone, and via e-mail in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of residential housing operations in a university setting.
- Ability to organize and meet deadlines in a timely manner, deal with changing priorities and work well under pressure. Skill to coordinate high volume workload with frequent interruptions and conflicting priorities.
- Experience working in an office/administrative setting, preferably in a college or university environment.
- Ability to develop, organize and manage systems for the coordination of student information and confidential files.
- Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, initiative, tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive matters and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Proven ability to initiate and track various issues and follow-up to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately proofread and prepare correspondence including correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and standard business format.
- Demonstrated experience with business productivity applications including, but not limited to, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher and Excel. Experience with or ability to quickly learn Content Management System (CMS) for website updates.
- Skilled in using general office equipment including laptop, desktop computer, projectors, fax machine, scanner, copy machine, etc.
- Ability to maintain acceptable work habits, demeanor, attention to details, punctuality and regularity of attendance.
- Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on background check results.
- Occasional evening/weekend work in support of programs and opening/closing of residences halls and apartments.
- Work during opening and closing weekend (one weekend in September and one weekend in June) is required.
Annual Full Pay Range: $53,160 - $75,335 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.46 - $36.08

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
