About the Role

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant II to join our Property Management Accounting team. The accountant will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager to ensure that all accounting for the portfolio is performed accurately and timely. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What You ll Do

Below is a snapshot of what this role is all about. While there is more to it, this is the core focus.

  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to investors and lenders
  • Complete monthly and year end closing procedures
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and roll forward schedules
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Prepare audit work papers and provide supporting documents
  • Prepare monthly debt service for processing
  • Select invoices for payment
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Assist in processing of distributions
  • Other duties as assigned

What We re Looking For

Education/Certificates:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting is required

Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting
  • Real estate experience a plus
  • Affordable Housing experience a plus
  • Yardi and Timberline experience a plus

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
  • Must be highly detailed, deadline oriented, and organized
  • Effective verbal and written communications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external business associates to promote positive professional working relationships and environments

Estimated Rate of Pay:

$70,500.00 - $80,000.00
